FOLD Auction: The Interfold Launch Sequence Begins
Pre-sale opens July 6. The FOLD auction begins July 8 on Uniswap, marking the first public milestone in The Interfold's launch sequence.
The Interfold is entering its launch phase, beginning with the FOLD auction.
The auction marks the first major public milestone in the Interfold mainnet launch sequence: a staged rollout toward token-based network economics, scheduled FOLD transferability, and Network Alpha.
The Interfold is a distributed network for confidential coordination. It lets competing companies, independent organizations, and online communities collaborate on computations together: each party keeps its inputs private, while everyone can verify the result is correct.
The FOLD auction begins the launch sequence. Token transferability and Network Alpha follow as separate milestones, with timing and participation details defined by the official launch materials.
Important: the auction is not live yet. Official registration links, auction details, and contract information will be shared only through verified Interfold channels. Any current link claiming access to FOLD tokens, registration, verification, or the auction should be treated as fraudulent.
Here’s what to know before registration opens.
1. Launch timeline
The Interfold launch is a sequence, not a single event.
Over the past year, the Interfold has moved from protocol development and controlled testing toward public network rollout. This launch sequence begins the transition from internal validation to public participation: first through FOLD distribution, then through network participation and the planned rollout of Network Alpha.
The current timeline is expected to proceed as follows:
- July 6–7: Uniswap CCA pre-sale (early registration and bidding)
- July 8–9: FOLD Continuous Clearing Auction (CCA) on Uniswap
- After the CCA: 40-day cooldown (all transfers restricted, except ciphernode bonding)
- August 19: scheduled FOLD transferability, subject to official sale terms
- Network Alpha: planned rollout as the launch sequence progresses
These milestones are connected, but distinct.
CCA ≠ TGE ≠ Network Alpha.
The CCA is the initial public auction for FOLD. Token transferability follows after the 40-day cooldown, during which time transfers are restricted to ciphernode bonding only. Network Alpha is the controlled mainnet phase of The Interfold and is expected to roll out as the launch sequence progresses, subject to final operational readiness.
Network Alpha is not live today, and production ciphernode participation is not yet open. The protocol has been developed and tested in controlled environments, with additional details on Network Alpha covered below.
2. The FOLD auction
The initial public distribution of FOLD will take place through a Continuous Clearing Auction (CCA), a price-discovery mechanism built on Uniswap infrastructure.
Registration opens July 6, with the FOLD auction happening July 8–9 on Uniswap.
The auction runs across multiple discrete periods. Participants may submit either market orders or capped orders, and successful participants in each period pay the same clearing price. This structure is intended to support market-driven price discovery, reduce gas competition, and limit last-minute sniping dynamics that can distort auction outcomes.
The auction will be accessible through the Uniswap web app and is expected to follow two 48-hour windows:
- Uniswap CCA pre-sale (early registration and bidding): July 6–7
- Auction: July 8–9
Before participating, review the official auction materials:
- Auction FAQ
- Token FAQ
- FOLD tokenomics
- official auction links and contract details, once available
Participation in the FOLD auction will be limited to eligible participants. Eligibility may depend on jurisdiction, residence, citizenship, entity status, sanctions screening, or other legal requirements. Persons in the United Kingdom and the United States are not eligible to participate.
The official auction FAQ is the source of truth for participation requirements, eligibility, and verification details:
3. Cooldown and transferability
Tokens purchased through the FOLD auction will be subject to a 40-day cooldown after the auction closes and tokens are distributed.
During this period:
- FOLD cannot be transferred.
- FOLD cannot be used for any activity other than ciphernode bonding.
- Transferability is scheduled after the cooldown concludes.
FOLD transferability is scheduled for August 19, subject to official sale terms. After the cooldown concludes, restrictions on FOLD purchased through the auction are expected to be lifted. Exact TGE timing and related launch framing will be confirmed through official Interfold channels.
4. FOLD tokenomics
FOLD has a total supply of 1.2 billion tokens.
Key tokenomics for launch participants:
- CCA allocation: 10% of total supply / 120M FOLD
- CCA unlock: no restrictions from TGE, following the 40-day cooldown
- Liquidity Reserve: no restrictions from TGE
- Foundation Treasury: 48-month linear unlock from TGE
- Gnosis Guild: 48-month release schedule from TGE
- Airdrop, Investors, Team and Advisors: 24-month linear unlocks from TGE
Full distribution and unlock details are available in the FOLD tokenomics docs:
5. What FOLD does
FOLD supports the economic operation of the Interfold network.
Its expected roles include:
- Ciphernode bonding: Ciphernode operators bond FOLD to become eligible for network duties. Bonded FOLD remains locked while the operator is registered and may be subject to withdrawal periods and penalties for provable misbehavior or failure to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
- Protocol incentives: Alongside a share of protocol fees, ciphernode operators may receive FOLD incentives for successfully completing protocol-defined duties as members of an E3 committee.
- Governance: FOLD holders will be able to participate in governance decisions through the Interfold DAO. Governance may include network parameters, protocol upgrades, and treasury administration.
Governance is expected to use a secret-ballot application powered by the Interfold. Additional governance details will be published separately.
For current operator materials, see the ciphernode docs:
6. Network Alpha and early applications
What is Network Alpha?
Network Alpha is the controlled mainnet phase of The Interfold.
It is expected to begin with selected ciphernode participation, early integrations, and production validation under defined network constraints. This phase is designed to move the Interfold from controlled testing toward production operation without implying that the full protocol is immediately open or fully permissionless at launch.
Network Alpha is expected to roll out as the launch sequence progresses, potentially before or around TGE, depending on final operational readiness.
What is currently live?
Network Alpha is not live today.
Production ciphernode participation is not yet open. Current testnet and operator materials are available for experimentation, but testnet participation is not currently incentivized and does not guarantee Network Alpha participation.
The long-term operator model is permissionless and open to anyone. Production requirements, bonding mechanics, and onboarding details for Network Alpha will be published as they are finalized.
Early application: Secret ballots with Aragon
An early example of the Interfold in practice is CRISP, a secret ballot protocol for digital decision-making built on the Interfold and the Aragon OSx stack.
CRISP secret ballots enable participants to submit encrypted votes while a committee of independent ciphernodes coordinates a verifiable tally without exposing individual ballots.
The result is a secret-ballot system with:
- client-side encryption
- no trusted tallier
- coercion resistance
- a verifiable public result
Aragon is an early governance partner for The Interfold. More on this collaboration will be shared separately.
The Interfold is also working with partners across governance, privacy, and coordination infrastructure, with additional ecosystem updates planned throughout the launch sequence.
7. Network stewardship
Gnosis Guild is the initial development team behind The Interfold.
The Interfold Foundation has been established to support the network’s long-term stewardship, governance, and development. Gnosis Guild will continue contributing to The Interfold as a service provider to the Foundation.
Additional details on governance and Foundation structure will be published separately.
8. What’s next?
The FOLD auction is not live yet.
Before the registration and verification window opens, participants should:
- read the Auction FAQ and Token FAQ
- review the FOLD tokenomics doc
- follow @theInterfold for official updates and links
- review ciphernode materials if interested in future operator participation
- join the Interfold Telegram to ask questions
Important: Official auction links, registration instructions, eligibility requirements, and contract details will be shared only through verified Interfold channels. Any current link claiming access to FOLD tokens, registration, verification, or the FOLD auction should be treated as fraudulent.
The FOLD auction begins the public launch sequence for The Interfold.
It is the first step toward a network where private inputs can produce shared, verifiable outcomes: auctions without trusted auctioneers, ballots without exposed votes, and coordination systems that do not depend on a single operator.
Network Alpha is the next step in bringing that system into production.
FOLD auction registration opens July 6.
