Interfold Community Update: June 2026
Over the past few months, we've made significant progress across core infrastructure, protocol design, and operator tooling. Now we're entering a new phase: scaling testing, onboarding ciphernode operators, and getting ready for Network Alpha. The next chapter of the Interfold depends on a strong and engaged operator community. Whether you're interested in running a ciphernode, exploring new privacy-preserving use cases, or following the evolution of confidential coordination, now is the time to get involved.
Here's a look at what we've been working on this month, and what's coming next.
Technical Progress & R&D
Over the past few weeks, our focus has been on hardening the protocol and preparing core infrastructure for larger-scale testing and the upcoming launch. The current phase is focused on reliability, performance validation, and infrastructure refinement ahead of Network Alpha.
Multi-Node Benchmarking: Benchmarking is currently underway across clusters of 15+ nodes. These tests are helping us evaluate throughput, coordination overhead, and system behavior under increasing network participation.
Client & Dashboard Overhaul: We are refactoring the entire UI/UX stack across our clients and dashboard. The goal is to simplify operator workflows, improve observability, and create a more streamlined experience for both technical and non-technical users.
Internal Audits & Stability Improvements: Alongside feature development, we are conducting internal audits and systematically addressing high-priority bugs. Stability and correctness remain our highest priorities as the protocol matures.
Architecture Review: We are conducting a deeper review of the current protocol architecture to identify optimization opportunities, improve maintainability, and ensure the system remains scalable as new components are introduced.
Token Vesting Escrow: We are completing the smart contracts required for token vesting and escrow ahead of the Interfold token launch. We've tapped the Zodiac team to review the design and strengthen its implementation.
Run a Ciphernode
We recently published an overview of how ciphernodes power confidential coordination on the Interfold. Ciphernodes participate in distributed key generation and threshold decryption, ensuring that no single operator controls private inputs or outcome decryption.
We're expanding the network and looking for new operators. If you’re interested in supporting the future of private, verifiable coordination, consider running a ciphernode.

Use Cases Spotlight
We recently published an overview of how Interfold enables confidential coordination across markets, voting systems, and AI workflows.

By allowing private inputs to produce shared, verifiable outcomes, Interfold unlocks use cases such as sealed-bid auctions, secret-ballot governance, prediction markets, and multi-agent AI coordination, without requiring participants to reveal sensitive data or trust a single operator.
As the protocol matures, we're focused on making these coordination primitives accessible to developers building the next generation of privacy-preserving applications.
Multiplayer Privacy: From Private Money to Private Coordination
Join us on June 18 at 12:00 PM UTC for another Multiplayer Privacy X Space, featuring the Interfold and Zcash. We'll explore privacy as a foundational crypto primitive, the evolution of confidential coordination, and how privacy-preserving governance tools like Zecret Ballots can unlock new forms of collective decision-making. Tune in for a conversation on the future of privacy, governance, and coordination in crypto.
